Ben is first point of contact for Ben Lund Racing. He set up the business back in 2012, taking on horses while working full time as Head Lad for a local racing yard. Ben had a long career in the racing industry, working alongside trainers up and down the country, learning invaluable skills and techniques that have left him able to work with all types of equine, from varying disciplines and backgrounds. He is well known for having the ability to work with 'quirky' types, and has the patience and understanding to train these horses and allow them to work to the best of their ability, in a calm and relaxed way.
Ben started riding as a very young lad, and was bought up around horses on the farm he lived on in Scotland. Being a natural horseman, Ben has been able to become involved in all aspects of equine training, enjoying time spent as a race rider, riding both on the Flat and NH, working on busy yards and work riding as a daily routine up until his business began to demand all of his time.
His approach to breaking in young horses (and often older ones too) is very calm and confident, instilling confidence into his horses and allowing them to work at their own pace, which in turn produces a well mannered and enjoyable ride.
Bens reputation spreads far and wide as a trustworthy and approachable individual, and his aim to produce every horse in his care to the best standard allows him to stand out from other competitors.
Jade has been working alongside Ben since the business started up, over 5 years ago, and is an important part of the team. She deals with all enquiries, handles invoicing and receipts, has created the website and keeps it up to date, and takes regular photos and provides updates for all owners whose horses come to stay with us. She has gained a wealth of knowledge working very closely with Ben over the years. She often helps in taking horses racing, grooming and mucks out daily.
Luca Morgan - Jockey
Luca has been involved in horses since he was about 3, off his own back with no horsey people in the family. He started pony racing at 11, had about 200 rides including lots in Ireland where he used to go most weekends. He then started riding out for Paul Nicholls at 14 and has been riding out for other trainers ever since. Most recently Luca has had a few rides under rules and pointing and his goal for the season is to improve as much as possible and hopefully make a good grounding for himself for next season and beyond. He is an important part of our team and is always on hand to help ride out, we look forward to giving him plenty of opportunities in the future.
Ginny Cable - Rider
Ginny first sat on a horse at 6 weeks old at a yard on the east coast where her mum was the yard manager. She has ridden a variety of horses and ponies ever since. She had her first project pony at 12, a just broken 5 year old, and produced her to compete in ODE’s. She now has her own ‘quirky’ late backed 6 year old that has given her ample opportunity to hone her stickability skills! She has helped back and school many horses and is currently working her way through her BHS stage exams. Ginny enjoys exploring different equine characters and is able to adapt her riding and pace of education to each individual horses needs.
Dulcie Wood - Rider and Yard Staff

She is very experienced around all types of horse, and graduated from British Racing school in July 2018. Dulcie often rides out, alongside mucking out for us before she goes to college several days a week.
